Annual award recipient chosen by Leadership Kentucky classmates

Frankfort, Ky. (February 2, 2022) – Leadership Kentucky, one of the oldest and most prestigious statewide leadership development programs in the United States, announced Beth Davisson, as the recipient of the 2021 Lisa Murrell Award. Davisson is the Senior Vice President of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Foundation. She is also Founding Executive Director of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s Workforce Center, which is part of the philanthropic arm of the organization.

“I believe Lisa would have been proud of the Leadership Kentucky Class of 2021. This group includes caring, courageous, and compassionate leaders dedicated to making a difference in Kentucky, each deserving of the Lisa Murrell Award,” said Beth Davisson. “Receiving this distinguished recognition from my peers is something I will always cherish. I am thankful for the opportunity to honor Lisa’s great legacy and will strive to carry her bright, servant spirit with me every day.”

The Lisa Murrell Award is presented annually in honor and loving memory of Lisa Murrell, a member the Leadership Kentucky Class of 2008, to the person in the current class who most epitomizes the spirit of Lisa: Courage, Compassion, Dedication, and Selflessness. Davisson’s classmates described her as “thoughtful, kind, and a true pleasure to interact with…a kind heart and a genuine spirit shows at all times.”

“Year after year, we have the privilege of bringing together future leaders of our great Commonwealth.  I am honored to have had the opportunity to watch Beth flourish in the program, always demonstrating her strong and selfless character,” said Janice Way, Leadership Kentucky President. “Beth has shown that she is a compassionate, thoughtful leader and I look forward to seeing the change she will ignite across Kentucky.”

In addition to the award, the Lisa Murrell Scholarship Fund assists future Leadership Kentucky class members who may need financial assistance to participate.
